Beacon Technologies, Inc. deploys SmartBrowTM aboard the USS Blue Ridge
Salisbury, January 1, 2004: Dana Seiler, President of Beacon Technologies, Inc., announced the company has begun deploying the SmartBrowTM Access Control System aboard the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), the command ship for the US Navy 7th Fleet. The Blue Ridge became the Seventh Fleet Flagship on October 5th, 1979. She operates from Yokosuka, Japan as part of the U.S. Navy's forward deployed Naval Forces Program. She provides the highest capability for seagoing command and control theater level forces by naval and/or joint commanders during peacetime or conflict, and provides the preeminent naval support for Untied States diplomatic initiatives and objectives.
According to Mr. Seiler, "the SmartBrowTM system is an advanced electronic security system that can be easily deployed to the Quarterdeck, Fantail, Beach-head or Pier-side. It's high degree of portability makes it especially suited for use aboard a vessel. The entire system can be stored while under way and then deployed in a matter of minutes. The system combines the use of Smartcard/Biometric readers as well as PDA based Smartcard readers."
Beacon Technologies, Inc. is the developer of the US Navy SmartGateTM and SmartBrowTM system and provides Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection and security consulting to the Federal, State and Local government as well as corporations interested in maintaining a high degree of safety for their employees.
